The Chapman Glacier is located on Ellesmere Island, Nunavut Territory, Canada, near the North Pole. Formed by the merger of several smaller glaciers, rocky debris on top of the glacier clearly marks the edge of each individual glacier. The debris allows us to see the flow pattern formed as the glacier moves downstream. North is to the right in this ASTER image acquired on July 29, 2000, covering an area of 31.7 x 55.5 km, and located near 81.2 degrees north, 79.8 degrees west.
