Shikotsu-Toya National Park is located in southwest Hokkaido, Japan. The chief features of this mountainous region are active volcanoes, hot-spring resorts, and large caldera lakes. To the south lies Lake Toya, on whose southern shore are two active volcanoes. North of Lake Toya is the volcano Yoteizan, at 1900 m elevation. The image covers an area of 15 x 39 km, was acquired on July 27, 2006, and is located at 42.7 degrees north latitude, 140.8 degrees east longitude.
