About 80 km south of Banda Aceh, Indonesia, coastal villages were destroyed by the December tsunami. These images show the sites of Bahak Nipah and Keudepate in 2001 (left image) and January 12, 2005. The before image was acquired by Landsat-7 in June 2001, and the after image was acquired by ASTER. The images are located near latitude 4.8 degrees north and longitude 95.4 east. They cover an area of about 14.3 x 9.1 km.
