100 Cities Project
The 100 Cities Project uses satellite remote sensing data collected over cities worldwide to
monitor socioeconomic and biogeographic variables. ASTER is the primary source of data for this
NASA funded project housed at the Center for Environmental Science Applications (CESA) at
Arizona State University (ASU).

ASTER Spectral Library
A compilation of almost 2000 spectra of natural and man-made materials.
-
ASTER Volcano Archive (AVA)
The AVA website provides access to over 40,000 full-resolution daytime ASTER VNIR images,
covering 1,542 active volcanoes. The AVA Browser provides a user-friendly Google Maps based
interface to navigate the archive. Additionally, available ASTER data is searchable by
volcano name.
-
Global Land Ice Measurements from Space
GLIMS monitors the world's changing glaciers by merging satellite remote sensing data with
supplemental field measurements and historic maps. ASTER is the primary source of glacier
information for the GLIMS project.

North American ASTER Land Surface Emissivity Database (NAALSED)
NAALSED is a collection of 3,327 1 degree by 1 degree tiles compiled from all clear ASTER
"leaf on" season (July, August, September) data collected over North America from 2000 to 2010.
Each tile contains several layers of science data sets, including surface emissivity,
temperature, and a top of atmosphere Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI). Each tile
also contains supplemental layers, such as a regional version of the ASTER GDEM resampled to
100 meters, geographic coordinates, a land-water map, and the number of observations used as
input. NAALSED tiles are available to registered users at no cost, and may be downloaded from
NASA Reverb, LP DAAC Data Pool, and USGS Earth Explorer.
