STAR PROPOSAL 

A Science Team Acquisition Request (STAR) allows approved users to acquire more data than is available through a DAR request. The procedure is for a requestor to work directly with a Science Team Member, who will sponsor the request. A STAR proposal is required, describing fully the details of the request. This includes the science rationale, the credentials of the requestor, repeat times and areal extent of the request, the expected results, etc. These "STAR Proposals" will be evaluated by ASTER's science working groups before being formally submitted to the STAR Review Committee for review.
