Requesting New Acquisitions

Please note that the submission of a DAR Proposal is only required for future data acquisitions. For previously acquired ASTER data, please refer to the Get Data page

How do I request that ASTER acquire new data?

If the desired ASTER observations have not yet been acquired, there is a 2-step procedure to submit acquisition requests. The first step is an approval step: you will submit a short proposal; it is reviewed, and if accepted, you will be given a login and password. Step 2 is to access and use the Data Acquisition Request (DAR) Tool to schedule your observations. DARs are applicable for up to 11 scenes.

Submit DAR proposal

For special acquisitions greater than 108,000 square kilometers or 30 scenes, please contact Leon Maldonado.

I'm already an authorized user, how do I submit a Data Acquisition Request?

Access and logon to the DAR Tool to submit a scheduling request.

How does ASTER schedule observations of the Earth?

What are the ASTER observation categories (e.g. Global Map)?
