 (JPG) Aspen Fire, Arizona (2,054,618 bytes) ( 2,748 x 3,156 )
On June 26, ASTER acquired this image of the Aspen fire burning out of control north of Tucson, Arizona. As of that date, the fire had consumed over 27,000 acres and destroyed more than 300 homes, mostly in the resort community of Summerhaven. These data are being used by NASAÔÇÖs Wildfire Response Team and the US Forest Service to assess the intensity of the burn for future remediation efforts. The image covers an area of 41.2 x 47.3 km. This image is located at 32.4 degrees north latitude and 110.7 degrees west longitude.
