U.S. airports come in different shapes and sizes, depending on their location and capacity. Four major airports are shown in this montage. The largest is Denver International Airport (upper left) located on the Great Plains. Dulles International Airport (upper right) and Chicago O’Hare (lower right) are in suburban areas. LA International (lower left) is in the middle of a major metropolitan area, bordered by the Pacific Ocean. All of the airports are depicted at the same scale; Dulles International Airport image covers an area of 7.2 by 7.7 km.
