In northern California, east of Mt. Shasta, the footprints of clear-cut logging activities are evident in this ASTER image. Newer logged-out parcels are brighter blue-green. Where secondary growth has started, the logged tracts appear “fuzzy”. Note that some of the logged-out tracts are located within the Shasta National Forest. The image was acquired July 2, 2018, covers an area of 37 by 56.5 kilometers, and is located at 42.5 degrees north, 122 degrees west.
